Mirror Doors

What are the differences between Daiek mirror door types?

Daiek manufactures bifold, sliding and swing doors. There are framed and frameless doors. There are doors constructed of steel and aluminum. There are different frame colors and mirror types. Be sure to visit the specific mirror door product pages to better understand the differences.

What are the benefits of a Bifold mirror door?

Bifold doors are made of two panels hinged together to form a folding door. These single doors, made up of two panels, can be combined with other bifold doors to accommodate larger openings. Bifolds are especially good for smaller openings as they offer nearly full access to the closet.

What are the benefits of a Sliding mirror door?

Sliding doors are made up of two or more panels which operate parallel to each other. Sliding doors typically allow only for 50% closet access, so are better suited to openings 48” or greater. While functioning, sliding doors do not protrude into the room so minimal clearance is necessary. Also, the larger panels offer less interruption in reflection.

What are the benefits of a Swing mirror door?

Our swing doors can fit inside the jamb or attach to the exterior surface of the opening. The surface mounted doors offer great flexibility in opening size. Swing doors are ideal for openings 36” or less.

Do I need a bottom track with my mirror door?

Daiek mirror doors come standard with a bottom track (except for Series 11). We recommend bottom tracks because they stabilize the mirror panel, which improves function, ensures safety and optimizes reflective quality.  As an option for Series 1 doors, we do offer a pivot bracket to replace the bottom track. The unique panel design of this door improves rigidity and makes this possible.

Does Daiek manufacture custom sizes?

Yes, custom size mirror doors can be built to accommodate nearly any opening size. In most instances, custom size doors can be produced very economically. View ‘standard sizes’ below the information tab to see maximum size limitations.

Does Daiek manufacture a sliding mirror door that pockets behind a sidewall?

Yes, the Series 7, 7T, and 8 are all available with extra long track and a panel linking system to pocket behind a sidewall. Additionally, Series 11 doors can be used to in front of or behind a sidewall.

Shower Doors

I'm interested in a frameless swing door. What is the difference between the Vision Series, F-Series, and 3000 Series shower enclosures?

The Vision Series is a true “Euro Style” frameless shower enclosure comprised of 3/8” or ½” glass and heavy duty plated brass hinges. Each unit is custom sized to minimize gaps between the shower opening and glass panels. The F – Series door utilizes ¼” glass and patch style hinges. The 3000 Series door utilizes 3/16” or 1/4” glass and a full length concealed hinge. The F Series and 3000 Series are attached to a “slim-line” aluminum framing system to better contain water.

If I have a door and panel application, may I specify any door size I want for my shower enclosure?

Yes.  You may specify any door size up to 36” on any of the swing door and panel shower enclosures that we manufacture without any additional cost.

Will my Daiek shower enclosure be built specifically for my shower opening?

In most instances, yes. Daiek typically manufactures a door for each specific shower enclosure. However, some standard size Bypass doors are adaptable to a range of opening sizes and these standard doors are more economical.

What do I need to know about measuring for a shower door?

Measuring is the most important step to ensure your door fits and performs well. Dimensions need to be taken at the top, middle, and bottom of the opening. Walls need to be checked for out of plumb conditions and sills need to be checked for out of level conditions.

What if my walls are out of plumb or my sill is out of level?

Depending on the door type, there is adjustment built into the door system to accommodate out of plumb and level conditions less than 3/8”. For more extreme circumstances, Daiek can fabricate tapered fillers or fabricate out of square glass to solve these conditions.

What if I need a replacement part for my shower enclosure?

Replacement parts are readily available. Daiek shower enclosures come with detailed installation instructions which include an exploded view and parts list. Contact our sales team for additional help.
