FRAMED MIRROR BIFOLD DOOR SYSTEM
| Doors shall consist
of a pair of aluminum framed mirror panels joined at the top and bottom by
hinges that prevent over-closing of the door.
The frameless stiles (vertical member) are bonded to the back of the penciled or beveled mirror edge. A protective edge is an integral part of the stile that protects the mirror without taking away from the aesthetics of the frameless look. The rails (horizontal member) shall provide a mechanical fitting at the top and the bottom. Each corner of a panel has a plastic corner connector mechanically fastened to the stiles and rails. The universal corner connectors have cavities to accept top and bottom pivots and guides. Spring loaded guides are installed at the top and bottom corners of the lead door panel. The top guide on the jamb panel serves as a pivot and engages a horizontally adjustable pivot bracket retained in the top track. The slide guides in the lead panel engage the top and bottom tracks. Snuggers, which are retained in the tracks, snug the door when it is fully closed. The lower pivot is adjustable over a range of 7/8" by means of a nut which turns on a threaded bolt in the body of the pivot and engages a horizontally adjustable pivot bracket retained in the bottom track. The top and bottom track will be made of .050 aluminum. Both tracks shall match the stile and rail. An aluminum pull attached to the side of the jamb panel is used to operate the door. The pull finish shall match the stile, rail and tracks. The stile, rail, top track, bottom track and pulls will have a bright silver or bright gold anodized aluminum finish or a white baked enamel paint finish. The mirrors will be 1/8" (3mm) thick and backed with a vinyl laminate to conform to Government Specification DD-M-00411(b) , ANSI Standard Z-97.1-1975 and CFR Part 1201, Category II. |
